Rajasthan Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar Dak was booked on Thursday for allegedly abusing and threatening police personnel in public after an audio clip purportedly featuring the minister circulated widely on social media, officials said.
The case was registered at Dungla Police Station in Chittorgarh district under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 132, 351(2), and 352, which relate to obstructing government work, criminal intimidation, and use of criminal force. The FIR was filed based on allegations made by Station House Officer (SHO) Shaitan Singh.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on Monday when the SHO received a phone call from the minister asking him to step outside the police station. The FIR states that Dak questioned the officer regarding two constables, Vishnu Kumar and Laxminarayan, and instructed that they be brought before him. Once the constables arrived, the minister allegedly used abusive language and publicly humiliated them in front of bystanders.

The complaint further alleges that Dak attempted to physically intimidate the policemen by raising his hand and also issued threats linked to a previous transfer involving one of the constables. Police officials claimed the minister was upset over the questioning of one of his acquaintances, identified as Dhanraj, who had reportedly been summoned to the police station for inquiry purposes.
Following the circulation of the purported audio clip online, the minister issued a video statement denying any connection to the recording being shared on social media. Dak maintained that the allegations against him were unfounded and suggested the clip was not authentic. Authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the authenticity of the audio recording.
The case has drawn attention amid wider discussions over political interference in policing and the conduct of public representatives. Police said further investigation is underway, and officials are expected to examine the audio clip and other evidence as part of the inquiry.
