The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the BJP's youth wing, will organise the 'NAMO Yuva Run: For A Nasha Mukt Bharat' on September 21 at 75 locations nationwide, with parallel events in 75 cities abroad via the Bharatiya Yuva Diaspora. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced the initiative, expecting lakhs of youth to participate in raising awareness about drug addiction's harms and the value of 'swadeshi' (indigenous) products.
Actor-model Milind Soman, appointed National Run Ambassador, attended the press conference. The event honours Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday on September 17, fostering national resolve among youth.
Mandaviya lauded Modi's 11-year leadership for propelling India's development, simplifying taxation through GST (replacing 18 fragmented taxes with a unified system), and delivering rate cuts as a "big gift" to citizens. He contrasted this with pre-2014 regimes, noting annual tax reductions that eased public burdens while boosting the national budget.
BJYM president and BJP MP Tejasvi Surya projected one million participants, hailing Modi as the ultimate icon of fitness and youth inspiration. He spotlighted the government's anti-drug successes under Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, including 10 lakh kg seized and destroyed in one year and a total of 22 lakh kg from 2014 to 2024—up from 3.6 lakh kg in 2004-2014—demonstrating India's intensified "war on drugs".

Surya urged youth to join the fight, emphasising that victory requires their active resolve. The run aligns with ongoing campaigns like 'Nasha Mukt Bharat', blending anti-addiction messaging with swadeshi promotion to inspire self-reliance and healthier lifestyles amid rising global drug threats.
