Two youths were stranded on a high rock at Manjhar Kund waterfall in Bihar’s Kaimur district for nearly three hours after a sudden increase in water flow left them unable to descend safely. The incident caused concern among tourists present at the popular waterfall, as the current intensified around the rock.

According to eyewitnesses, rainfall in the area led to a sudden rise in the water level. The two youths, who were near the waterfall when the flow increased, moved onto a higher rock as the current became stronger. Tourists at the site reportedly warned people near the water to move towards safer areas.

An eyewitness, Rajiv Sharma, said he was visiting Manjhar Kund with family members and relatives when he noticed several young people making social media reels near the waterfall. He noted that two young women who were also filming near the water managed to move away before the water level increased, while the two young men were left stranded as the current strengthened.

The youths reportedly remained on the rock for around two-and-a-half to three hours because the water was too strong for them to climb down. Tourists repeatedly called out to them and urged them to remain safe, while some people recorded the situation on their mobile phones. The footage showed the two men standing on the rock as water flowed around them from several directions.

The situation eased after the water flow eventually subsided, allowing the youths to climb down from the rock and reach safety. Their safe return brought relief to tourists who had been watching the incident. The episode also highlighted the risks posed by sudden changes in water flow at waterfall and hill locations during periods of rainfall.

Some tourists alleged that the two youths had consumed alcohol before the incident, although the claim was not independently confirmed. Another eyewitness alleged that similar incidents occur frequently at Manjhar Kund and raised concerns about the reported availability of alcohol in the area, urging the local administration to examine the issue and strengthen safety measures at the waterfall.
