A spectacular wax museum, set to open on the Ram temple premises during Deepotsav 2025, promises to elevate Ayodhya’s cultural allure, according to the Uttar Pradesh government. Spanning 10,000 square feet along the temple’s parikrama path, the Rs 7.5-crore project will captivate devotees and tourists with a vivid retelling of the Ramayana through lifelike wax artistry.
The museum will showcase nearly 50 meticulously crafted wax figures of key Ramayana characters, including Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lord Lakshman, Lord Hanuman, Sugriv, and Jatayu. Each statue, designed with intricate costumes and expressive details, aims to reflect historical authenticity. Iconic episodes like the Ram-Ravan battle, Sita’s abduction, Hanuman’s voyage to Lanka, and the Ram Setu construction will come alive through immersive dioramas, enhanced by audio-visual effects and interactive displays for an engaging visitor experience.
A Maharashtra-based organization, collaborating with skilled artisans from Kerala, is spearheading the statue creation, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The project, executed under a Public-Private Partnership model akin to the Amaniganj Bhool Bhulaiya, is on a fast track to meet its Deepotsav deadline, with Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar overseeing rapid progress.

Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Kumar emphasized that the museum will enrich Ayodhya’s cultural heritage, complementing ongoing infrastructure developments. These include road-widening, beautification of the Saryu ghats, and other initiatives to position Ayodhya as a global hub for religious and cultural tourism. Deepotsav, marked by millions of lit lamps, has already earned Ayodhya world records and international acclaim, with this year’s festivities expected to draw larger crowds.
The wax museum is part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to transform Ayodhya into a premier destination, blending spirituality with world-class tourism infrastructure.
