Boasting the world’s third-highest tiger density, Assam has bolstered its conservation efforts by expanding wildlife reserves and cracking down on encroachments. “The striped beasts of Assam roam with power and pride,” Sarma posted on X, highlighting the state’s commitment to its iconic big cats.
Environment and Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary emphasized Assam’s leadership in tiger conservation, with renowned reserves like Kaziranga, Manas, Orang, and Nameri at the forefront.
