Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu touched down in Singapore on Sunday, kicking off a five-day mission to attract global investments and deepen ties with the Telugu diaspora. Landing at Changi Airport, Naidu was greeted with a vibrant welcome, featuring Kuchipudi dances by children and traditional harathi ceremonies by Telugu community members, industrialists, and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs). “Delighted by the warm reception from our vibrant Telugu community. Their contributions strengthen India-Singapore bonds,” Naidu posted on X.
Naidu’s packed itinerary includes 29 engagements, from business roundtables to diaspora events. On Sunday, he meets Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule, followed by the Southeast Asia Telugu Diaspora Programme at OAVIS Auditorium, joined by his son, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and other cabinet members.
The event, organized by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), will host 1,500 delegates from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, focusing on global job opportunities for Andhra’s youth, the P4 poverty eradication initiative, and the Telugu community’s role in state development. A formal dinner with the High Commissioner caps the first day.
Day two sees Naidu meeting Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry to explore collaborations, particularly in reviving Amaravati’s urban development partnership, strained under the previous YSRCP government. He will tour Bidadari Estate to study sustainable urban planning, visit Singapore Sports School, and explore Tuas Port to glean insights on port-led growth.

On July 29, Naidu will engage with AI Singapore, SIA Engineering, Keppel, and GIC, alongside an IT and fintech roundtable with over ten global firms. High-profile meetings with Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, plus a CEO roundtable on port infrastructure, are also planned.
The final days include discussions with CapitaLand, Temasek, and Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, alongside Singapore ministers, before Naidu returns to Hyderabad on July 31. The visit emphasizes boosting Andhra’s exports through NRI collaborations and expanding job opportunities via skill development. Naidu will pitch Andhra’s robust infrastructure—ports, highways, a 1,053-km coastline, and skilled workforce—while inviting industrialists to the Visakhapatnam Investment Summit in November.
This trip, Naidu’s second foreign tour since forming the coalition government after Davos, aims to restore Singapore’s trust, previously eroded, and position Andhra Pradesh as a global investment hub. By promoting “Brand AP” and showcasing new industrial policies, Naidu seeks to secure partnerships in IT, fintech, ports, sports, and urban development, driving inclusive growth for the state.
