Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to launch the Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme on August 2 in Darsi, Prakasam district, fulfilling a key “Super Six” poll promise from the 2024 elections. The scheme, aimed at supporting financially unstable farmers, will provide Rs 20,000 annually to eligible farmers in three installments, combining Rs 14,000 from the state and Rs 6,000 from the Centre’s PM-Kisan scheme. An official release confirmed that 47 lakh farmers are expected to benefit, with the state allocating Rs 2,343 crore and the Centre contributing Rs 831 crore for the first installment of Rs 7,000 (Rs 5,000 state, Rs 2,000 Centre).
The initiative, renamed from the YSR Raithu Bharosa scheme, offers financial aid, seeds, fertilizers, and compensation for natural calamities to small, marginal, and tenant farmers. Eligibility requires Andhra Pradesh residency, farming as the primary occupation, and land ownership below 5 acres, with mandatory KYC verification. Applications are processed through Raithu Seva Kendras or the official website, annadathasukhibhava.ap.gov.in, where farmers can also check payment status using Aadhaar or ration card numbers.
Announced in the 2025-26 state budget with a Rs 4,600 crore allocation, the scheme aligns with other “Super Six” promises, including Thalliki Vandanam (Rs 15,000 per school-going child) and free bus travel for women, launched on August 15, 2025. Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu emphasized that the scheme, initially slated for May, ensures “no eligible farmer is left behind,” supporting 39.33 lakh farmers affected by natural disasters like drought and floods. The direct benefit transfer (DBT) model ensures funds reach farmers’ bank accounts, enhancing agricultural stability and rural empowerment.
