The Union minister is also expected to receive presentations on initiatives undertaken during Madhya Pradesh's Year of Farmer Welfare and the Balram Agriculture Festival. The state Home, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Cooperation, Public Works and Transport departments will present details of their respective initiatives, according to the state government's statement. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had reviewed preparations for the visit and directed officials to ensure arrangements for seating, drinking water, sanitation, security and traffic management.
The visit is also expected to highlight proposed investments aimed at expanding dairy processing and value-added production in the state. These include a proposed Rs 255-crore dairy plant in Ujjain and a facility in Bhopal for formulated and fermented milk products. The Bhopal facility, established at a cost of Rs 16.80 crore at the Bhopal Milk Union premises, is intended to increase processing capacity for products such as curd, buttermilk, lassi, shrikhand and mawa.
The farmer-focused programmes come alongside the expansion of the Farmer ID system in Madhya Pradesh. Through the visit, the government is seeking to highlight the role of dairy cooperatives, livestock-based livelihoods and agricultural infrastructure in its broader farmer welfare and rural development initiatives.
