Election authorities in Delhi issued a notice to Kota Neelima, wife of Congress leader Pawan Khera, on Thursday for allegedly being registered in the electoral rolls of two constituencies, one in Delhi and another in Telangana. Neelima, a Congress leader in Telangana, and her husband have not yet responded to the notice.
The electoral registration officer of the New Delhi assembly constituency posted the notice issued to Neelima on X. On Tuesday, Pawan Khera received a similar notice for being enrolled as a voter in both the New Delhi and Jangpura constituencies in Delhi.

The notice to Neelima stated that she is registered as a voter in the New Delhi constituency and Khairtabad in Telangana. She has until 11 AM on September 10 to respond to the notice.
"It has come to my attention that you are registered in the electoral rolls of more than one constituency. As you may know, being enrolled in multiple constituencies is a punishable offence under the Representation of the People Act, 1950. You are hereby directed to explain why action should not be taken against you under the said Act," the notice stated.
On Wednesday, the BJP alleged that Neelima possesses two active voter ID cards and claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi cannot distance himself from such "criminal acts within his party ranks".
