Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav came out swinging against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), declaring that their days in power in Uttar Pradesh are numbered. Speaking at the SP headquarters, Yadav accused the BJP of betraying the public with unfulfilled promises and widespread misgovernance, predicting their ouster in the 2027 state elections.
"The BJP has shattered the trust of the people. Their false promises have left Uttar Pradesh in ruins," Yadav told a gathering of party workers. He slammed the BJP for what he called a systematic attack on the Constitution, soaring inflation, rampant unemployment, and a crumbling education and healthcare system.
Yadav didn’t hold back, accusing the BJP of framing innocents in false cases and misusing administrative power. “The BJP’s rule is marked by corruption and incompetence. From demonetisation to the lack of development in even the Prime Minister’s own constituency, their failures are glaring,” he said, pointing to the recent devastating floods in Varanasi as proof of their neglect.

The former chief minister also criticised the BJP’s economic policies, particularly the complex GST framework, which he claimed has strangled businesses and traders. “This government has no answers for unemployment or inflation. Outsourcing jobs is no solution,” Yadav asserted, adding that the BJP has failed to boost power production over the past nine years.
In contrast, Yadav promised that an SP-led government would prioritise social justice, equitable development, and prosperity for all sections of society. “The people of Uttar Pradesh trust the Samajwadi Party’s vision. In 2027, the BJP will face the wrath of the people, and no one will save them,” he declared.
Yadav’s fiery speech signals a heated buildup to the 2027 elections, with the SP positioning itself as the champion of the marginalised and a force to end what they call the BJP’s exploitative rule.
