A seven-year-old boy died after his neck became trapped in the hydraulic door of a parked bus at a garage on the outskirts of Vadodara on Wednesday evening. The child, identified as Divyesh Rathwa, was reportedly playing near the garage when he entered the stationary bus. According to police, the hydraulic door suddenly closed while the boy was inside, trapping him by the neck and leaving him critically injured.
Divyesh lived with his parents, who work as labourers and were staying in accommodation located behind the garage. Police said the boy had been playing in the area before the incident. Another account of the incident stated that Divyesh had left his home after telling his mother that he was going to the market. When he did not return after some time, his family became concerned and began searching for him in the surrounding area.
The search eventually led the family to the garage, where the boy was found trapped in the door of the parked bus. The bus was not in motion at the time of the incident. Police said CCTV footage from the garage captured the sequence of events and showed two men present at the premises attempting to help the child after they noticed that he had become trapped.

The two men reportedly pushed the hydraulic door open in an effort to free Divyesh. However, by the time they managed to release him, the child had lost consciousness. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in an unconscious condition. Doctors examined him after he was brought to the hospital but declared him dead, according to the police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Gupta said the circumstances leading to the boy becoming trapped were being investigated. Police have registered an accidental death report and are examining the CCTV footage and other available information to determine how the hydraulic mechanism operated at the time of the incident. Investigators are also looking into whether the bus had any mechanical issue or whether any other factor contributed to the accident.
The incident has left Divyesh's family devastated, with the circumstances of his death now being investigated by the authorities. Police are continuing their inquiry to establish a clear sequence of events, including how the child entered the parked bus and what caused its hydraulic door to close. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
