A 65-year-old man was killed, and several members of his family were injured following a violent dispute over the cutting of tree branches in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, police said on Friday. The incident occurred in the Bagad Tiraya area and involved a clash between close relatives.
The victim, identified as Bali, was allegedly attacked with an axe by his cousin, Fakru, during an argument that escalated into violence. Police said Bali suffered severe head injuries in the assault and later died at a hospital due to excessive bleeding.
According to police, the dispute began a day earlier when Fakru and his sons allegedly cut branches from a neem tree belonging to Bali’s family. Akram Hussain, the victim’s son and a resident of Bere village, told authorities that the initial confrontation arose over objections to the cutting of the tree, leading to a heated argument between the relatives.
