The Delhi government on Saturday carried out a major administrative reshuffle in its Finance and Accounts Department, transferring 52 officers as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance. The move was implemented under the Transfer and Posting Policy and takes effect immediately.
According to official details, the officers who have been transferred had been serving in the same postings for five years or more. The reshuffle includes 23 Deputy Controllers of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers, marking a significant realignment within the department responsible for financial oversight and accounting functions.
In addition to the transfers, the government also approved the promotion of 19 Senior Accounts Officers to the rank of Deputy Controller of Accounts. These officers will now take on expanded responsibilities across various departments, reflecting what the government described as performance-based recognition and administrative restructuring.

Officials said the exercise is aimed at improving efficiency in financial management and strengthening internal systems of governance. The government stated that the postings and transfers were carried out strictly on administrative grounds to enhance integrity, transparency, and dynamism in the functioning of the Finance and Accounts Department.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the reshuffle aligns with her government’s commitment to establishing a more accountable and citizen-focused administrative system. She stressed that there is no scope for negligence or corruption at any level and that governance must meet the highest standards of transparency and efficiency.
The Chief Minister further added that timely decision-making and stronger financial oversight would help accelerate the implementation of welfare schemes and improve public service delivery. The government has directed all transferred officers to immediately assume charge at their new postings and discharge their responsibilities in accordance with administrative requirements.
