Despite the scare, local authorities confirmed no loss of life or property damage. The district administration has placed teams on high alert, with emergency services monitoring for potential aftershocks.
Kutch, a seismically active region, is no stranger to earthquakes, having endured the devastating 2001 Bhuj quake that claimed nearly 13,800 lives.
Seismologists classify this latest tremor as minor, with no indication of a larger seismic event. The ISR continues to analyze data, urging residents to report any structural concerns and follow earthquake safety protocols. The incident has reignited discussions on the region’s preparedness for future seismic activity.
