Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu vowed on Saturday that the TDP-led NDA government will launch the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme in May, fulfilling a key election commitment under its ‘Super Six’ promises. The initiative pledges Rs 15,000 annually for each school-going child.
On Friday, Finance Minister P Keshavulu earmarked Rs 9,407 crore for the scheme within the state’s Rs 3.22 lakh crore budget for FY26. Speaking at a village gathering in Gangadhara Nellore, Chittoor district, during a welfare pension distribution event, Naidu said, “In May, we’ll deliver Talliki Vandanam funds to everyone… ensuring support for all middle-class families.”
Highlighting concerns over declining birth rates, the CM urged couples to have more than two children, warning of a future with dwindling youth as the global population ages. He explained that ‘Talliki Vandanam’ was crafted with this in mind, offering Rs 15,000 per child yearly to encourage larger families. “Children are our nation’s wealth and future,” Naidu stressed, assuring the government’s role in supporting their upbringing.
Additionally, Naidu announced the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, another ‘Super Six’ promise, providing Rs 20,000 annually to farmers in three installments. The budget allocates Rs 6,300 crore for this, with the central government contributing Rs 6,000 and the state covering the remaining Rs 14,000.
Addressing the burden of rising healthcare costs on the poor, Naidu pledged Rs 2.5 lakh in medical insurance for all citizens, with up to Rs 25 lakh for the most vulnerable. He also unveiled plans for a 2,000-acre industrial park in Gangadhara Nellore, signaling broader development efforts.
The CM’s assurances reflect the NDA’s focus on welfare and growth, blending financial aid with long-term vision. As Andhra Pradesh gears up for these schemes, Naidu’s promises aim to bolster families, farmers, and the state’s economic backbone, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to its electoral mandate.
