The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that it will fully cover the medical expenses of all 13 people injured in a major fire that broke out at a petrol pump in Pachor town of Rajgarh district. The incident, which occurred near the old bus stand in a crowded market area, triggered panic among residents on Monday night due to the sudden spread of flames.
According to officials, the fire erupted while fuel was being transferred from a tanker into an underground storage tank at the petrol pump. The situation escalated rapidly when intense flames engulfed the premises, eventually setting the fuel tanker ablaze. The blaze spread quickly, creating thick smoke and chaos in the surrounding area, forcing emergency response teams to rush to the scene.
The fire also caused significant material damage, with around 15 motorcycles parked nearby completely destroyed. Firefighters struggled for nearly 45 minutes before bringing the inferno under control. Local authorities and emergency services worked to evacuate the injured and manage the crowd during the unfolding crisis.

On Tuesday morning, Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment visited the injured persons admitted at Shajapur government hospital to assess their condition and ensure proper treatment. He later stated that he had personally reviewed their health status and held discussions with medical staff and district officials, directing them to provide all necessary support and high-quality care.
Shajapur MLA Arun Bhimawad also visited the hospital late on Monday night to meet the victims and oversee emergency response measures. Officials confirmed that all 13 injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment at Shajapur District Hospital, while one critically injured patient has been referred to Indore for advanced care.
The state government has assured that the injured will receive complete financial and medical assistance under its relief policy, as investigations continue into the cause of the fire and safety protocols at the petrol pump are expected to come under scrutiny.
