WinZO, India’s leading social gaming and interactive entertainment platform, announced its strategic entry into the United States, marking its presence in three of the world’s four largest mobile gaming markets, alongside India and Brazil.
The launch coincides with the introduction of ZO TV, an innovative short-form video content format designed to diversify WinZO’s offerings and solidify its position as a global hub for interactive entertainment. This move follows the company’s decision to suspend real-money gaming services in India, effective August 22, 2025, in compliance with the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which received Presidential assent on August 22.
WinZO’s US expansion opens new opportunities for Indian game developers, providing them access to the world’s largest gaming market through the company’s plug-and-launch distribution model. “Our vision has always been to empower Indian game developers to reach global audiences,” said co-founders Saumya Singh Rathore and Paavan Nanda.
The platform, which serves over 250 million users with more than 100 games in 15 languages, has fostered a vibrant ecosystem of 75,000 vernacular content creators and attracted investors like Kalaari Capital and Griffin Gaming Partners. ZO TV aims to enhance user engagement by integrating short-form video content, aligning with WinZO’s mission to innovate beyond traditional gaming formats.
Despite regulatory challenges in India, where the new bill bans all real-money gaming, WinZO remains committed to its 250 million Indian users, promising continued innovation in e-sports and social gaming. The company’s swift pivot to the US market and the launch of ZO TV demonstrate its resilience and adaptability in navigating a shifting regulatory landscape.
By leveraging its experience in India and Brazil, WinZO aims to bridge global creators with consumers, positioning India as a key player in the $65–70 billion gaming markets of the US, India, and Brazil, which collectively account for over 20 billion annual mobile game downloads.
