US President Donald Trump has rejected reports suggesting that the United States is facing a shortage of military supplies amid its ongoing conflict with Iran, claiming that the country has more than sufficient stockpiles of ammunition and other defence resources. Trump said US military reserves remain stronger than those of any other nation and dismissed concerns over declining munitions availability. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Trump said, “We have far more munitions than anyone in the world, and far more than we need,” while responding to reports and speculation about the state of US weapons stockpiles.
His comments came amid growing attention over the impact of prolonged military operations on American defence resources. Concerns over US munitions levels have emerged as global conflicts have placed increased pressure on military supply chains. The wars in Ukraine and the Middle East have highlighted the importance of maintaining adequate reserves of artillery shells, missiles and other defence equipment. The posts included AI-generated images that appeared to depict attacks on Iranian targets, including strategic energy infrastructure. One of the images showed an Iranian ship surrounded by a large explosion. The use of AI-generated visuals drew attention as Trump continued his messaging against Iran during heightened tensions between the two countries.
