Four Indian-origin senior citizens who had gone missing during a road trip from Buffalo, New York, to West Virginia were found dead on Saturday evening in a car crash, authorities confirmed. The victims have been identified as Dr. Kishore Divan (89), Asha Divan (85), Shailesh Divan (86), and Gita Divan (84).
The group departed Buffalo on July 29 with plans to visit Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold, a well-known ISKCON temple located in Moundsville, West Virginia. Their last known activity was a credit card transaction and surveillance footage from a Burger King in Erie, Pennsylvania, that same afternoon. The family never arrived at their destination, and concern grew when they failed to check into their reserved accommodations.
Marshall County authorities, along with volunteers and family members, initiated a search across multiple counties. Cell phone signals were last traced to the Moundsville area in the early hours of July 31. After several days of search efforts, the family's vehicle—a light green 2009 Toyota Camry with New York plates—was located off Big Wheeling Creek Road at approximately 9:30 PM on August 2.

Emergency personnel found the vehicle down a steep embankment. All four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. First responders remained on site for over five hours to retrieve the victims and secure the area.
Dr. Kishore Divan was a retired anesthesiologist and a respected member of the Indian-American community in Buffalo. Community members have expressed their grief and condolences to the bereaved family.
Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty issued a statement confirming the incident and extended sympathies on behalf of his department. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities have not ruled out road conditions, navigation errors, or potential medical emergencies.
