Russian President Vladimir Putin has named the United Arab Emirates as a potential venue for a landmark meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, signaling a push to address the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
The announcement, made after talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the Kremlin, comes as the White House presses Moscow to show progress in ending the three-year war by next week.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov indicated the summit could occur soon, though no date is confirmed. Both leaders have expressed mutual interest, with Trump claiming his team is already engaging Russian officials.
The UAE’s neutrality and strong ties with both nations make it a fitting host, despite some Russian concerns over its U.S. military links.
