Prince Harry and Meghan are set to return to the United Kingdom, marking a significant development in their relationship with the British royal family. The couple stepped down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and later moved to the United States. Their decision followed growing tensions surrounding their royal duties, media coverage and their experiences within the monarchy.

The reported return does not mean Harry and Meghan will resume their former roles as working members of the royal family. However, their presence in Britain could allow Harry to spend more time with his father, King Charles III, who is undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer. It could also provide opportunities for Harry and Meghan's children, Archie and Lilibet, to spend more time with members of the royal family.

Harry and Meghan's relationship with the monarchy became increasingly complicated after their marriage in 2018. The couple initially carried out royal engagements and represented the institution at public events. However, concerns over intense media scrutiny and their position within the royal household eventually contributed to their decision to step back from royal responsibilities.

Harry has continued to visit Britain on occasions despite living in the United States, while his relationship with his father has remained an important part of discussions surrounding the family's future. Their reported decision to spend more time in the UK could create further opportunities for family contact while allowing them to maintain their separate lives outside the monarchy.
