President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday departed for State Visits to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania as part of India’s diplomatic outreach to Eastern Europe. The multi-nation tour is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, expanding cooperation in key sectors and enhancing political, economic and people-to-people connections with the three European countries.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the visit marks the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova and North Macedonia, while it will be the first presidential visit to Romania in more than three decades. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the tour is expected to provide fresh momentum to India’s partnerships with the three nations.
