The discussion followed a series of high-level exchanges between Indian and Israeli officials. On December 17, 2025, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar visited Jerusalem, meeting PM Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog to review strategic ties and discuss areas such as technology, economy, skills development, connectivity, and security.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the momentum of the India-Israel strategic partnership and reiterated their commitment to strengthen these ties for mutual benefit. PM Modi reaffirmed India’s support for efforts towards a just and durable peace in the region, including the early implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan.
The telephonic talk builds on prior exchanges, including a call on December 10 between the two leaders regarding West Asia developments. Officials say these discussions underscore the deepening trust and collaboration between India and Israel across multiple sectors while addressing regional stability and security concerns.
