Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed Operation Sindoor as a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unyielding political will, the pinpoint accuracy of India’s intelligence agencies, and the unparalleled strike prowess of the armed forces.
Speaking at the inauguration of an upgraded multi-agency centre (MAC) in Delhi for intelligence sharing, Shah said, “Operation Sindoor is a unique symbol of Prime Minister Modi’s firm political will, the precise intelligence of our agencies and the unmatched strike capability of our three armed forces.”
Launched on May 7, 2025, Operation Sindoor saw India execute precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, targeting nine terror camps and 11 airbases in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people.

The MAC, established post the 26/11 Mumbai attacks under the Intelligence Bureau, facilitates real-time intelligence sharing among law enforcement agencies, bolstering such operations.
India and Pakistan agreed to halt military actions on May 10, but Modi clarified the pause is temporary, stating, “We have only kept in abeyance our operations against Pakistan and the future will depend on their behaviour.”
In a 22-minute address, Modi called Operation Sindoor India’s “new normal” against terrorism, rejecting nuclear blackmail and emphasizing, “Terror and trade, terror and talks cannot go together.” Shah’s remarks underscore the operation’s strategic success, credited to Modi’s leadership and inter-agency coordination, as India maintains vigilance amid fragile regional tensions.
