Mamata Banerjee on Friday unveiled a 10-point manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, outlining key welfare measures and development goals for the next five years. The proposals focus on financial assistance for women and youth, housing, healthcare, agriculture, education, and administrative expansion.
The manifesto, released by the All India Trinamool Congress, promises continued and enhanced financial support under flagship schemes. Banerjee said the plan would serve as a roadmap for governance if the party returns to power in the state.
A major highlight is the expansion of the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, under which monthly assistance to women will be increased by ₹500. Beneficiaries in the general category will receive ₹1,500 per month, while SC/ST beneficiaries will get ₹1,700. The Banglar Yuba-Sathi scheme for unemployed youth will also continue, offering ₹1,500 per month.

The party has also proposed a ₹30,000 crore agriculture budget aimed at supporting farmers, assisting landless agricultural workers, and modernising farming practices. In addition, the manifesto promises housing for all, improved access to safe drinking water, and the creation of seven new districts to strengthen administrative efficiency.
In the healthcare sector, Banerjee announced the launch of a doorstep service initiative named ‘Duare Chikitsa’. Under the programme, health camps will be organised annually in every block and town to ensure accessible and quality medical services for residents.
Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party, Banerjee accused the opposition of interfering in state administration during the election period. She alleged that attempts were being made to create unrest and destabilise governance, warning of a situation resembling indirect President’s Rule, and urged citizens to remain united and vigilant.
