Several Kuwaiti firefighters and a civilian worker were injured on Saturday while responding to fires caused by Iranian strikes at two separate locations, authorities said. The Kuwait Fire Force confirmed that emergency teams were deployed to contain the blazes, with injuries reported during firefighting operations at one of the sites.
According to the Kuwait Fire Force, five firefighting crews were sent to the first location and three teams were assigned to the second site. The injured personnel were shifted to hospitals for medical attention, although officials did not reveal the extent of their injuries or provide details about the targeted locations.
The incident occurred hours after Kuwait’s air defence systems intercepted what authorities described as hostile missiles and drones during renewed attacks early Saturday. The strikes temporarily affected operations at Kuwait International Airport, leading Kuwait Airways to reschedule most flights as security measures were implemented.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said explosions heard in several parts of the country were linked to air defence operations against incoming threats. Authorities urged residents to follow safety instructions and remain cautious as security forces continued monitoring and responding to the situation.
Kuwait’s state news agency KUNA reported that warning sirens were activated across the country for the fourth time amid the escalating security situation. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said another power generation and water desalination facility was hit, causing a fire and forcing the shutdown of some generating units as a precaution.
Emergency teams continued firefighting, repair, and recovery efforts at affected sites, while authorities appealed to citizens to reduce electricity consumption during peak hours. The developments come amid rising regional tensions despite recent diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran aimed at restarting negotiations toward a broader agreement.
