The accusations erupted amid ongoing vote tallies plagued by repeated computer glitches and technical failures that have delayed results for over a week, with Trump-backed conservative Nasry Asfura holding a razor-thin lead at 40.53 percent over right-wing rival Salvador Nasralla's 39.16 percent, while Castro's handpicked successor Rixi Moncada trails far behind in third place at 19.29 percent.
Castro detailed a litany of electoral sabotage during a fiery rally in central Honduras, decrying "threats, coercion, manipulation of the TREP preliminary results system, and tampering with the popular will," while specifically condemning Trump's pre-election warnings of severe "consequences" for Hondurans voting for Moncada, whom he smeared as a communist puppet of Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro and narco-terrorists.
