India and the United Kingdom have reinforced their defence partnership as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Anil Chauhan held high-level meetings in London focused on the evolving nature of modern conflict and expanding military-to-military cooperation between the two countries.
During his visit, General Chauhan met UK Minister of State for Defence Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard, where discussions centred on strengthening defence collaboration, industrial cooperation, and emerging security challenges. Both sides reviewed areas such as joint capability development and future-ready defence systems. He also held talks with UK Minister of State for Indo-Pacific Seema Malhotra, focusing on advancing the India–UK strategic partnership in the Indo-Pacific region. According to officials, the discussions included the Defence Industrial Roadmap and initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in technology and security domains.
The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) said the meetings placed strong emphasis on cyber security, intelligence sharing, space capabilities, and information resilience. Both sides reiterated their commitment to building resilient armed forces capable of responding to complex and evolving global threats. Earlier in the visit, General Chauhan led a roundtable discussion with defence experts, think tanks, and policy specialists on India’s military transformation and the challenges associated with modernising armed forces. The dialogue highlighted the importance of advanced technologies, improved operational readiness, and deeper integration across cyber, intelligence, and industrial sectors.
