In a significant breakthrough in the mysterious deaths of three individuals found inside a locked car in west Delhi, police have arrested a self-styled ‘baba’ in connection with the case. The accused, identified as Kamaruddin, has been booked for murder following preliminary investigations into the incident that shocked the national capital earlier this week.
The bodies of Randhir (76), Shiv Naresh Singh (47), and Laxmi Devi (40) were discovered on Sunday afternoon inside a stationary vehicle near the Peeragarhi flyover. Randhir was found seated in the driver’s seat, while the other two occupants were seated in the rear. The vehicle was locked from inside, initially raising suspicions of suicide.
However, CCTV footage reviewed by investigators revealed that Kamaruddin had been sitting in the front passenger seat of the same car earlier that day. According to police officials, the accused had been in contact with the deceased for nearly a year. His alleged association with them and his presence shortly before their deaths prompted deeper scrutiny.

Described by police as a ‘maulana’ and an occult practitioner, Kamaruddin is now being interrogated to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the deaths. Investigators are also probing whether any financial, religious, or personal motives were involved in the case.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the precise cause of death, pending post-mortem and forensic reports. Police officials stated that further details will emerge as the interrogation progresses and technical evidence is examined, as they work to unravel the circumstances behind the tragic incident.
