Dhaka Metropolitan Police announced that two primary suspects in the assassination of prominent Bangladeshi activist Sharif Osman Hadi have fled to India via the Meghalaya border. The suspects, identified as Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Sheikh, reportedly crossed the Haluaghat border in Mymensingh district with assistance from local associates, according to Additional Commissioner SN Nazrul Islam during a press briefing.
Authorities stated that upon entering India, the fugitives were received by an individual named Purti before being transported by a taxi driver named Sami to Tura city in Meghalaya. Informal reports indicate that Indian authorities have detained these two assistants, though official confirmation remains pending.
