Kerala has unveiled ‘i by Infopark,’ the state’s first neurodiversity-friendly coworking space, strategically located at Ernakulam South Metro Station in Kochi. Inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday, this 48,000 sq ft, seven-story facility is designed to foster an inclusive work environment for professionals with diverse cognitive and neurological needs, setting a benchmark for modern workspaces in India.
The hub, accommodating over 550 professionals, offers state-of-the-art amenities, including high-speed internet, 100% power backup, 24/7 security, a professional reception, a cafeteria, office pods, meeting zones, and flexible work areas. “This facility is a model for the future, blending accessibility with innovation to drive job creation and economic growth,” Vijayan said in a Facebook post. The coworking space features customizable rental arrangements, allowing businesses to tailor spaces to their specific needs, from private cabins to open desks.
Targeting gig workers, freelancers, IT/ITES companies, multinational corporations, and firms establishing Global Capability Centres (GCCs), ‘i by Infopark’ aims to reduce commute times and enhance work-life balance through its prime location at Kochi’s multi-modal transport hub. The facility’s neurodiversity-friendly design includes sensory-friendly zones, ergonomic workstations, and inclusive policies to support professionals with autism, ADHD, and other neurodiverse conditions.
