Rohit Sharma found himself at the centre of a tense fan interaction after a video surfaced online showing two youngsters attempting to get unusually close to the Indian cricket star while he was seated inside his car. The incident, which quickly went viral on social media, sparked conversations around celebrity safety and fan behaviour, especially involving high-profile athletes in India.
In the widely shared clip, Rohit is seen sitting in the back seat of his vehicle and acknowledging fans gathered outside by waving at them. What initially appeared to be a routine interaction soon turned uncomfortable when two individuals approached the car window and attempted to grab the cricketer’s hand. One of the boys also appeared to make contact with Rohit’s wristwatch, prompting concern among viewers online.
Reacting immediately to the situation, Rohit pulled up the car window and gestured firmly for the youngsters to move away from the vehicle. The video has since generated widespread reactions across social media platforms, with many users criticising the aggressive behaviour of fans and urging people to respect the personal space and security of public figures during such encounters.

Several social media users claimed that the watch worn by Rohit in the video was a Rolex “Giraffe” model reportedly valued at around Rs 3.25 crore. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the model or value of the watch. Despite the speculation surrounding the luxury accessory, much of the online discussion remained focused on the issue of safety and the growing trend of intrusive fan interactions involving celebrities and athletes.
Meanwhile, Rohit continues to make headlines for his performances in the Indian Premier League 2026 while representing the Mumbai Indians. The veteran batter recently delivered an explosive innings of 84 runs off 44 balls against Lucknow Super Giants, helping Mumbai chase down a challenging target of 229 with eight balls remaining in the match.
Following the victory, Mumbai opener Ryan Rickelton praised Rohit’s contribution and experience, calling him one of Mumbai’s and India’s greatest cricketers. Despite the important win, Mumbai Indians have struggled throughout the ongoing season, losing seven of their first 10 matches. However, the team hopes the recent performance will provide momentum ahead of their upcoming clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
