Authorities arrested Ravish Kumar for impersonating a candidate during the UP service selection exam in Jiamau, leading to the apprehension of two accomplices in a broader solver gang operation involving forged documents and payments.
At Government Girls' Inter College in Jiamau, an alert from the control room uncovered an impersonation attempt during the Uttar Pradesh service selection exam. Police apprehended Ravish Kumar from Sheikhpura, Bihar, who was posing as Sumit Yadav. Officials seized a forged Aadhaar card bearing Sumit's details but featuring Ravish's photo, along with a counterfeit admit card.
During interrogation, Ravish confessed to being part of a solver gang and named two accomplices, prompting swift action. Police teams, including the surveillance unit and Gautampalli police, arrested Vikas Kumar from Jamui, Bihar, and Dr. Amit Gupta, a medical officer at CHC Bansdih in Ballia.
Investigations revealed that Amit Kumar orchestrated the scheme, charging around Rs 50,000 per aspirant, with Rs 25,000 paid to solvers like Ravish and Vikas. Authorities recovered forged documents, mobile phones, and evidence of incriminating transactions.

A case has been registered under multiple sections of the BNS and the Uttar Pradesh Public Examinations Ordinance, 2024, at Gautampalli police station. The accused were presented in court on Monday, with further probes underway to dismantle the network.
