A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped repeatedly by her tuition teacher over a period of about 15 days in the Phephana police station area of Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, police reported on Tuesday. The Class-4 student, who attended the teacher’s coaching class, was subjected to rape and obscene acts during this time, according to Ajay Kumar Tripathi, Station House Officer (SHO) of Phephana police station.
The accused teacher is currently absconding, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend him. The case came to light after the victim’s father lodged a complaint, prompting the police to register a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The SHO confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts intensified to locate and arrest the suspect.
The incident, reported today, has shocked the local community in Ballia, a district in eastern Uttar Pradesh. As of now, no further updates on the suspect’s capture have been released by the authorities. The police continue their search to bring the accused to justice.
