Three teenagers, aged 15 to 16, were detained in Delhi’s RK Puram for allegedly breaking into their friend’s house and stealing gold jewellery, police reported on July 29, 2025. The minors, close friends of the complainant’s son, confessed to being driven by greed after noticing his lavish spending, assuming his home held valuable items. The burglary occurred on July 15 between 2 pm and 4 pm, when the family was away, with the teens breaking the house lock to steal multiple gold ornaments, as per Ravinder, the homeowner.
Police recovered all stolen jewellery after analyzing CCTV footage, which showed one suspect wearing a black “Gangsters” T-shirt. The trio was apprehended near Rock Garden, and they admitted to the crime in the presence of their parents, a Juvenile Welfare Officer, and the complainant.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). No prior criminal records were found for the juveniles. The incident has raised concerns about juvenile delinquency in affluent Delhi neighborhoods, prompting police to urge residents to secure their homes and report suspicious activities promptly.
