A 24-year-old taxi driver, Gautam Saini, was shot in the head in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur area early Sunday morning, leaving him in critical condition. Police have arrested two suspects linked to the violent attack, which has sent shockwaves through the community.
The incident came to light at 6:07 am when Badarpur Police Station received a call from a private hospital reporting a patient with a gunshot wound. Officers, including the SHO and investigating team, rushed to the hospital and found Saini, a Gurugram resident, unconscious with a bullet injury to his forehead. He was later transferred to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Authorities have detained two individuals suspected of involvement, though their identities remain undisclosed. The motive behind the shooting and the sequence of events are under active investigation. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to piece together the circumstances of the attack.
