The decomposed body of 32-year-old Subhbrata Ghosh Chaudhry was discovered inside his locked residence in Malviya Nagar, south Delhi, on Friday, police reported.
The discovery followed a call from Chaudhry’s sister, who alerted authorities after he had been missing for nearly a week with his phone unreachable.
A police team, accompanied by Chaudhry’s cousin, arrived at the Geetanjali Enclave residence to find the house bolted from within.

“After breaking open the door, we found Subhbrata’s body in an advanced state of decomposition,” an officer stated. Preliminary investigations revealed no immediate signs of foul play, though the circumstances raised questions.
The case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which addresses unnatural or suspicious deaths. The body was sent for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death, with results pending.
Police are probing Chaudhry’s last known activities, interviewing neighbors, and reviewing CCTV footage. The incident has shocked the quiet residential area, with locals describing Chaudhry as reserved. Further details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
