In a significant operation, six Naxalites were arrested from various locations in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, a police official confirmed on Thursday. Among them, Kunjam Muka (37) and Madvi Muya (30) carried rewards of ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh respectively. Muka served as a Janatana Sarkar head, while Muya was a militia commander under the Konta Area Committee of the banned CPI (Maoist). Both were linked to a 2023 polling booth attack in Banda and a 2024 civilian murder in Gangrajpad.
The other four, identified as Madvi Sukka (35), Sodi Chandru (28), Muchaki Lakhma (27), and Sodhi Deva (24), are lower-ranking cadres. Arrested between Etegatta and Gorkha villages in the Bhejji area, they were found with a 3-kg tiffin bomb, five detonators, cordex wire, and electric wire. The group admitted to planning an IED attack on security personnel in the Kottacheru-Gorkha jungle but abandoned the plot due to intensified patrolling.
