In a heartbreaking incident in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, an 18-month-old boy named Ahad tragically lost his life after falling from the first-floor roof of his home in the Majidpura locality on Monday evening, August 11, 2025. The local police are investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding the toddler’s death, as family members have accused the boy’s mother, Shabana, of deliberately throwing him off the roof.
Wasim, a scrap dealer, lived with his wife Shabana, their three-year-old daughter, and their son Ahad in a modest home. According to police reports, the incident occurred late Monday when Ahad fell from the roof under unclear circumstances. Shabana, who was in the kitchen at the time, claimed the child was playing and accidentally fell after reaching the edge of the roof. The family rushed Ahad to a nearby doctor, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
However, Ahad’s grandmother and uncle have raised serious allegations against Shabana, accusing her of intentionally causing the fall. They cited frequent domestic disputes within the family as a possible motive, according to police statements. The Hapur police, led by Station House Officer Munish Pratap Singh, have sent the toddler’s body for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing to ascertain whether the incident was a tragic accident or a deliberate act.
