In a disturbing case from Jalna, Maharashtra, a manager at a government-run residential sports school has been arrested for allegedly molesting several female students. The accused, employed at the facility, was booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), according to police officials.
The issue came to light when parents lodged a complaint with the district collector on Saturday, accusing the manager of inappropriate conduct. Following this, an education department team inspected the school, where multiple girls reported serious allegations against the manager. The students claimed he took them to rooms without CCTV coverage and touched them inappropriately. One girl alleged that, despite a female coach being present, the manager insisted on measuring her chest, leaving her deeply uncomfortable.
Block education officer Manoj Kolhe confirmed that 10 to 12 girls raised complaints. "We recorded their statements, and a case has been filed at Kadim Jalna police station," he said. Four girls have provided formal statements so far. Sub-divisional police officer Anant Kulkarni stated that the accused, identified as Kharat, was arrested on Sunday night and remanded to police custody for two days.
