In a stunning development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has nabbed Sandeep Yadav and Arvind Walia, the masterminds behind Ramprastha Group, in a massive money laundering scandal that’s left over 2,000 homebuyers high and dry. The duo, key directors of Ramprastha Promoters and Developers Pvt. Ltd. (RPDPL), were arrested on Monday following dramatic early-morning raids across the National Capital Region (NCR).
The scandal centers around an alleged Rs 1,100 crore fraud, where RPDPL collected funds for glitzy housing projects like Project Edge, Project Skyz, Project Rise, and Ramprastha City, launched between 2008 and 2011. Promising dream homes, the company failed to deliver flats or plots even after 15-20 years, leaving families in financial ruin. The ED alleges that the collected funds were siphoned off to shell companies for land deals, never reaching the promised projects.
On July 11, 2025, the ED seized assets worth Rs 681.54 crore linked to RPDPL, following FIRs filed by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi and Haryana Police. With the agency now digging deeper into hidden assets and shady transactions, this explosive case is far from over. Stay tuned as the truth behind this colossal betrayal unfolds.
