In a dramatic operation, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) intercepted a woman passenger at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, uncovering 400 kg of hydroponic ganja stashed in her two check-in bags. The seized contraband, valued at a staggering ₹40 crore, marks a significant drug bust, the NCB revealed on Wednesday.
Acting on precise intelligence, NCB officials detained the woman, who had procured the high-potency ganja from Bangkok and routed her return through Dubai to evade detection. The NCB noted a rising trend of hydroponic ganja smuggling from Bangkok to Indian airports, prompting heightened vigilance.
Authorities are now probing the woman’s connections in Thailand and India to dismantle the smuggling network. Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of this illicit operation.
