In a chilling conspiracy that has stunned Bihar’s Supaul district, a married woman named Soni and her long-time lover Brajesh orchestrated a professional contract killing of her husband Shashiranjan Chaudhary for ₹1.5 lakh, only for the entire plan to collapse when the victim miraculously survived multiple gunshot wounds.
On the night of November 26, Chaudhary was ambushed by two armed assailants the moment he stepped out of a local eatery in Triveniganj market area. The attackers fired several rounds at close range before fleeing into the darkness, leaving him bleeding profusely on the road. Quick medical intervention saved his life, and as he regained consciousness in hospital, his statements set off alarm bells for investigators who initially treated it as a routine robbery attempt.
As the probe deepened under the direct supervision of Triveniganj DSP, evidence rapidly pointed towards an insider job. Call records, financial transactions, and witness accounts led police straight to Soni and her childhood friend-turned-lover Brajesh, both hailing from Madhepura district. Interrogation revealed the couple had met secretly multiple times to finalise the murder contract, even handing over an advance payment to the hired shooters.

Within days, a special team arrested four individuals, including masterminds Soni and Brajesh along with the two triggermen. Police recovered ₹62,000 in cash, the remaining advance money, and the country-made firearms used in the attack, delivering airtight evidence of the cold-blooded conspiracy driven purely by an illicit relationship the duo wanted to protect at any cost.
Superintendent of Police Sarath R S confirmed that the entire plot would have remained buried had Chaudhary not survived. With the victim now stable and cooperating fully, authorities state that additional arrests may follow as the investigation exposes further layers of this shocking betrayal that has left the local community reeling.
