A family travelling in a car was attacked by a group of men in the middle of the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, with the assault captured on the dashcam of another vehicle travelling behind them. A video of the incident, reportedly recorded on the Maddur stretch of the expressway, has circulated widely on social media and shows several men surrounding a blue car on the busy highway.
The footage shows the group charging towards the vehicle before forcefully opening the driver’s door and repeatedly assaulting the man seated inside. The attack took place in full public view as other vehicles moved along the expressway. At least one of the attackers appeared to be carrying a metal object, which was allegedly used to strike the victim during the assault.
The car reportedly had four to five occupants, including a woman and a child, when the attack occurred. Despite the presence of the family members, the group continued assaulting the driver. The footage shows the victim being struck several times while still seated inside the vehicle before the situation escalated further and he was eventually pulled out of the car.

As the assault continued, several passersby were seen approaching the scene and attempting to intervene. Towards the end of the video, a woman is seen rushing out of the targeted vehicle and pleading with the attackers to stop. The victim was then dragged out of the car and beaten on the highway as bystanders tried to break up the confrontation.
The exact circumstances that led to the attack remain unclear, and no confirmed reason for the alleged assault has been reported. The footage available from the dashcam captures the violence but does not establish what happened before the group confronted the family’s vehicle. Details about the identity of the attackers and the condition of the victim were also not immediately available.
There was no immediate official statement from police regarding the incident or whether a case had been registered. The widely circulated video has raised concerns over road safety and public violence on one of Karnataka’s busiest expressways. Further details are expected after authorities examine the footage and establish the sequence of events that led to the attack.
