In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district, Ambesh Yadav has been arrested for the brutal double murder of his parents, Shyam Bahadur Yadav, 65, and Babita Yadav, 63, residents of Ahmedpur village, following years of escalating family tensions primarily stemming from his interfaith marriage to a Muslim woman and subsequent financial disputes.
The couple vanished on December 8, 2025, prompting their daughter Vandana to lodge a missing persons complaint on December 13 after repeated unsuccessful attempts to reach her parents and brother; this initiated a comprehensive police probe that rapidly zeroed in on Ambesh as the prime suspect.
Ambesh had entered into the interfaith marriage in Kolkata during the height of the Covid pandemic, resulting in the birth of two children; however, his family vehemently opposed the union, exerting continuous pressure on him to dissolve it, while his wife's demands for maintenance further strained relations, compelling him to repeatedly seek monetary assistance from his parents amid disputes over money and land.

Having relocated back to the village approximately three months prior to live solely with his parents, Ambesh endured persistent arguments that fueled mounting resentment; on the fateful day, a fierce altercation led him to fatally strike his mother on the head with an iron rod, followed by strangling his intervening father with a rope after beating him severely.
Following the killings, Ambesh meticulously dismembered each body into three segments using a saw retrieved from the house basement amid ongoing construction, concealed the remains in six cement bags after cleaning blood traces with the victims' clothing, transported them in his vehicle, and discarded most into the Gomti River, with one oversized portion of his mother's body disposed of separately in the Sai River en route to Varanasi; police located and detained him on December 15, extracted a confession through rigorous questioning, conducted a detailed crime scene reenactment, and continue recovery efforts with divers having retrieved one body part thus far under a registered murder case.
