At least 24 people sustained injuries following a collision involving two buses near the Chali Bangla flyover under the Rajganj police station limits in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district. The accident occurred around 11:30 pm on Monday, according to local police officials. Among the injured, six individuals are reported to be in critical condition.
One of the buses was carrying approximately 100 devotees from the Nala and Kundihi areas of Jamtara district who were en route to a religious festival in Bokaro. The other bus, reportedly speeding, rammed into the passenger bus, causing significant injuries and damage. All the injured were immediately rushed to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad for treatment.
The impact of the collision briefly affected traffic movement on the Kolkata–Delhi lane of the Grand Trunk Road (NH 19), but authorities quickly cleared the scene to restore vehicular flow. Police teams arrived promptly to manage rescue and relief operations, ensuring the safe evacuation of injured passengers.

Eyewitnesses described the chaos post-impact, highlighting the need for urgent medical attention for those trapped inside. The cause of the accident is under investigation, with preliminary queries focusing on whether speeding or negligence contributed to the collision. Authorities continue to monitor the condition of the critically injured and investigate the circumstances of the crash diligently.
