A 35-year-old engineer was brutally murdered in Lucknow’s Green City area by his 46-year-old live-in partner and her two daughters, aged 17 and 14, police confirmed on Monday. The incident occurred following a heated argument over the man’s alleged inappropriate intentions toward the woman’s elder daughter, according to authorities.
Police reported that the woman and her daughters remained inside the rented house for nearly ten hours after the killing before contacting the police control room. Responding officers found the victim lying in a pool of blood, and a kitchen knife used in the crime was recovered by the forensic team.
The deceased’s father filed a First Information Report (FIR) under murder charges against the woman and her two minor daughters. During initial questioning, the accused stated that her live-in partner had been “eyeing” her elder daughter for several days and had allegedly tried to molest her, which had sparked repeated quarrels between the couple.

On Sunday night, the woman and her daughters reportedly attacked the engineer, slitting his throat with a kitchen knife. Police have confirmed that the woman has been arrested and the two minor daughters detained, with further investigation ongoing under the supervision of DCP East Shashank Singh.
The deceased, originally from Deoria, worked as an executive engineer with a private firm. He had begun tutoring the woman’s daughters in 2012, gradually forming a relationship with the woman after her husband passed away in 2014. Both families had reportedly opposed the relationship.
The engineer’s father accused the woman and her daughters of exploiting his son financially and misleading him into the relationship. Police continue to investigate the case, with the accused reportedly cooperating and confessing to the crime.
