Two notorious criminals from Bihar, Manik Singh and his father Manoj Singh, wanted in nearly 40 cases including two dozen murders, have been arrested in Bengaluru by the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) with assistance from the Bengaluru State Intelligence Police. The duo had been evading authorities for almost a year while hiding in the city.
The police recovered multiple electronic devices from their possession, including eight dongles, nine Android phones, and three keypad phones, which are being examined for links to their criminal activities. Both father and son had previously been released on bail in 2015 before fleeing to other states and committing further crimes.
Manik and Manoj, residents of Patna, faced cases not only in Bihar but also in Jharkhand and West Bengal, covering charges such as murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, and violations of the Arms Act. The two carried cash rewards of Rs 3 lakh and Rs 1 lakh on their heads for information leading to their arrest.

The father-son duo had been on the radar after allegedly murdering a man named Manish Kumar in Patna last year. Police are now investigating individuals who may have provided shelter or acted as accomplices during their year-long evasion.
Reports also indicate that the criminals were involved in high-profile murders, including that of a prisoner, Chhote Sarkar, during transit to a court appearance. Chhote Sarkar himself had 16 cases registered against him.
Prior to their arrest, Manik and Manoj released a video hinting at fears of an encounter and urging authorities to take them into custody. Their capture marks a significant success for the Bihar STF and sends a strong message against criminal networks operating across state borders.
