A chilling murder case has unfolded in Jaipur, where Gopali Devi and her lover, Deendayal Kushwaha, allegedly killed her husband, Dhannalal Saini, after he confronted them about their five-year extramarital affair. The duo was captured on CCTV footage transporting the victim’s body on a motorcycle before attempting to burn it to destroy evidence.
Saini, a vegetable seller, grew suspicious of his wife’s claim of working at a factory. Last Saturday, he followed her to a clothes store where Kushwaha worked and discovered the pair together. Enraged, he confronted them, leading the accused to lure him to an upstairs shop. There, they struck him on the head with an iron pipe and strangled him with a rope. “The victim objected to their affair, after which his wife and Deendayal hit him with an iron rod in rage. He likely died on the spot,” said Digant Anand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Jaipur.
The couple stuffed Saini’s body into a sack, loaded it onto Kushwaha’s motorcycle, and rode through a market area—captured on CCTV—searching for a disposal site. Near Ring Road, they set the body ablaze, hoping to obscure identification, but fled when a car approached, leaving it half-burnt. Police recovered the remains and identified Saini after two days. Gopali Devi is in custody, though Kushwaha’s status remains unclear as the investigation continues.
