A 14-year-old girl was found allegedly murdered at her home in Bengaluru’s Tavarekere town, South district, triggering a police investigation. The sixth-grade student, who stayed home from school, was alone while her parents, daily wage laborers from Koppal, were at a construction site.
Unidentified assailants reportedly entered the residence and attacked the girl with sharp weapons, leaving her with multiple injuries. Her parents discovered her body upon returning home that evening.
The Ramanagara police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, suspecting sexual assault based on the body’s condition, pending post-mortem confirmation. Superintendent of Police, Ramanagara, R Srinivas Gowda, stated that the investigation is ongoing, with the post-mortem report expected to provide critical details to unravel this tragic case.
